THE
WHEAT, THE TARES
AND THE GRAPEVINE,
Part 2
"He who had received the one talent,
came forward and said, Lord, I know that you are a hard man, reaping
where you did not sow and gathering where you have not strewn. I was
afraid and went and buried your talent in the ground. Lo, here is your
talent.
His Lord answered him, saying, ‘You wicked and lazy servant. You knew
that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I have not planted.
Therefore, you ought to have placed my money with the bankers and then
I would have received it back with
interest. Take his talent from him and give it to the man who had ten
talents and cast this unprofitable servant into OUTER DARKNESS, where
there is weeping and grinding of teeth."
- Matt. 25:24-28
In our last issue, we explored the meaning of the Tares and the Wheat.
In this article, we will continue our examination of the wheat and tares
but we will also look at the significance of the Grapevine
in connection with the tares.
"Thomas
asked him, Lord, why does the visible light rise and set? On behalf
of men? The Savior answered him, Oh blessed Thomas, the visible light
shines on your behalf, not that you might remain here but rather, that
you will come forth. For when all the Elect have abandoned
bestiality,
then this light will withdraw back up into its essence; and it’s essence
will welcome it, because it is a faithful servant." . . . "For
as you know, if the Sun does not shine on these bodies, they wither
and perish just like the Weeds and the Grass. If the Sun shines on the
Tares, they
they
will prevail and choke the Grapevine, but if the Sun shines on the Grapevine,
then the Grapevine prevails and shades the Tares. It
alone will inherit the land [because] where it grows, its shade will
dominate over ever other growing Plant. When it is fully grown, it
dominates
all the land and is fruitful for its owner. It pleases its owner
in another way, for he would have had to trouble himself to uproot those
plants. But the Grapevine alone removes them. They die and return to
the soil." - The Book of Thomas the Contender
as found in the Complete Gospel of Jesus Christ, Pp 92, 93, compiled
and edited by Jeffrey Brackeen
This is clearly a parable about the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and it‘s
conquest of other entities. I have heard the complaint about the Mormon
Church that wherever it comes to dominate, its members will not buy
from ‘Gentiles’ but only from fellow Mormons. Nor will they sell to
them
in many instances. This is just one way the Mormon Church increases
its power and influence. To my way of looking at things, this is only
natural. It is what Christ expected of his church.
The
passage at the beginning of this article about the unfaithful servant
who buried his lord’s talent and did not cause it to reproduce is an
example of the fundamentalist attitude that the believer should not
be involved in politics. They have believed the lie of the Devil about
the division separating the Church and the State.
It is literally impossible to separate morality and lawmaking. We will
be subject to someone’s morality for better or worse. If we fail to
stand up for the ANCIENT LANDMARKS and then complain because we do not
like some new law, who’s fault is that?
We saw in a previous article that when the Breath of God came upon the
dry bones, they came to life and organized themselves into a mighty
army. Are we not commanded to ‘occupy’ until our Lord returns? Isn’t
this a military expression?
THE
VINE, THE BRANCHES AND THE HUSBANDMAN
"I
Am the true Vine and my Father is the Husbandman.
Every Branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away and every
branch that bears fruit, He purges, so that it may bring forth more
fruit. . . . Abide in me and I in you. Since the branch cannot bear
fruit by itself, except it abide in the Vine; no more can you unless
you remain in me. I
Am
the Vine, you are the branches: He that remains in me and I in him the
same brings forth much fruit; for without me you can do nothing. If
any man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers
and men will gather them and cast them into the fire to be burned."
- John’s Gospel 15:1-6
"You
are my friends if you do what I command you. Hereafter, I shall not
call you ‘servants’ because a servant does not Know what his master
is doing; but I will call you ‘friends’ for all things which I heard
from my Father, I have made Known to you." - John’s Gospel
15:14, 15
The
word which Jesus uses here for friend is a Greek word which means more
than a friend. It means a ‘Prince’ who stands around the throne of
his king. So, again we are speaking of his Kingdom.
"You are those who have continued with me in my temptations; therefore,
I
appoint you a Kingdom, just as my Father has appointed unto me,
that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom and sit on thrones
judging the twelve tribes of Israel." - Luke’s Gospel 22:28-30
No where in the Constitution of the United States can we find the expression
‘separation of church and state’. It does not exist. What we do find
is that the federal government cannot make laws respecting religion
or the free exercise thereof. But, what is happening is the Tares
are
gaining access to the control of our government through court decisions.
Believe me, they want to impose their sense of morality upon the majority
of our citizens. They want education in our schools that says that homosexual
lifestyles are acceptable and they even want
text-books
that illustrate how to perform homosexual acts. They want to give all
women the right to abort an emerging baby before it is born for any
reason that a woman can think of. This is murder pure and simple. They
want to subject the people of the United States to a rabid runaway United
Nations that despises the principles our country was founded on.
What does this mean for the fundamentalist who does not wish to be involved
in politics but hides his Lord’s talent in the ground? The answer is
found in the writings of Moses. "But it shall come to pass if you
do not listen to the Voice of the LORD your God, to observe all his
commandments
and his statutes, which I command you this day, that all. these Curses
shall come upon you and overtake you:
1. "You shall be cursed in the city"
- Are we not experiencing crime and gang warfare in our cities?
2. "You shall be cursed in your fields"
- We are beginning to see drought throughout our country.
3. "Cursed shall be the fruit of your
womb...and in the increase of your cattle and sheep" - Are we not
experiencing diseases such as ecoli and animal carried bacteria.
4. "Cursed shall you be in your coming
in and your going out." - This has to do with investments and military
matters. "The LORD shall send you cursing, vexation and rebuke
in all that you set your hand to do, until you perish quickly because
of your wickedness."
5. "The LORD shall make the pestilence
to cling to you, until you are consumed out of the land which you possessed.
. . The LORD shall smite you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation,
with strong burning, with the sword, with blasting with fungus and they
shall pursue after you until you perish. The heaven over your head,
shall be like brass
and
the earth under your feet like iron. The LORD shall cause your rain
to become powder and dust." - How can people see the drought stricken
lands in Texas and the Midwest as a visitation from God. Mexico and
India have experienced very extended drought conditions.
6. "The LORD shall cause you to be
smitten before your enemies: You will go out one way and flee seven
ways from them, and you will be carried away into all the kingdoms of
the earth." - Many people do not see the danger of sending our
sons and daughters to military posts
throughout
the world. They will certainly be attacked in the coming war. If our
military is scattered to more than a hundred countries, as it is, who
will protect our country? Our young men and women will be tied down
in the coming war.
7.
"And the LORD shall smite you with the botch
of Egypt and with the emerods and with the scab and the itch, which
you cannot be healed from. The LORD shall smite you with insanity, and
blindness and astonishment of heart. You shall grope at noontime like
the blind who
grope
at night, and you shall not prosper in your undertakings; you will be
only oppressed and spoiled evermore and NO MAN
SHALL SAVE YOU." - How many strange diseases have we been
subjected to in the past ten years? I cannot even think of the names
of all of them. We have seen new forms of Herpes, Aids, Gonorrhea, Eboli,
Staff and many others.
No
political leader will save us as long as we are in rebellion against
God.
8. "You will become engaged to a wife
and another man will sleep with her; you will build a house and not
be able to dwell in it. If you plant a vineyard, another will gather
the grapes thereof. Your ox shall be slain before your eyes but you
will not eat thereof. Your ass and your sheep will be given to your
enemies and they will not be restored to you.
"Your
sons and daughters will be given to another people and your eye shall
fail with longing for them all the day long and there will be no might
in your hand to restore them.
"
"You will be crushed and oppressed always, so that you will be
driven to madness at the sight of your eye. . . . The LORD shall bring
you and your leader whom you have chosen into a land which neither you
nor your fathers have known. . . . And you shall
become an astonishment
and
proverb - a byword among all nations, where the LORD shall lead you."
- We have seen divorce ripe families apart, because of easy divorce
laws. We have seen children consigned to welfare wards and juvenile
detention wards. Is this not the judgement of God upon us?
9. "The stranger that is in your
land, will get up high above you and you shall come down very low. He
will lend to you but you will not lend to him. He
will be the head and you will be the tail." - Some tell
me that this is already happening.
10. "The LORD shall bring a nation
against you from the far ends of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies
- a nation, whose tongue you do not understand; a nation of fierce continence,
which shall not regard the aged person or the young. . . . Therefore
shall you serve your enemies which
the LORD shall send against you, in hunger and thirst; in nakedness
and want of all good things; AND HE SHALL PUT
A YOKE OF IRON UPON YOUR NECK UNTIL HE HAS DESTROYED YOU; BECAUSE YOU
DID NOT LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE
LORD
YOUR GOD, TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND HIS STATUTES WHICH HE COMMANDED
YOU." - Deuteronomy, Chap. 28
My
friends, let us not bury our talents but use them to the advancement
of His Kingdom. With Love, I remain, Jeffrey Brackeen
